Ibiza has a wide variety of beaches on offer. From the busy San Antonio Bay or Playa d'en Bossa to the calmer and less commercial beaches - Portinax and .......

In San Antonio there are no beaches as such, so just head for the harbour. Tasty tunes can be found at Bar M and if you're lucky a palm tree might be free. There are many smaller, less commercial but equally busy beaches to be found just a short walk from the hustle of San Antonio.

There are beaches to be found on many of the smaller islands of the Balearics such as Formentera (boat day trips are available from ibiza town), many serviced by small day-cruisers and island ferries. If you like your beach with just you on it, this is the only way to go.

/ Beaches

Playa d’en bossa
2km from Ibiza town. Bars blasting out the biggest house tunes line this strip of sand, so as a relaxation spot it's not the best - but it is great fun. The sand is good and a spot under the palms, watching the planes come in is where it's at overhead (Space is just 500m away).

Talamanca
The nearest beach to Ibiza town. A bit basic but worth the short bus or boat trip. Costs €1,5 return or €1 single fare and boats leave Ibiza harbour on the half-hour and return on the quarter.

Cala Llonga
Approximately 10Km to the North of Ibiza Town this is a magnificent beach in a small bay. Can be quite busy but the beach is quite deep so can handle a lot of people. Worth a visit if you're after a relaxing beach.

San Antonio Bay
The large bay of San Antonio has a large but narrow beach sweeping around it for a good couple of miles. Moored boats stretch out in front of a marked out swimming area. The beach can be quite dirty during peak season so make sure you find a clean spot.

Salines
A very cool beach. Walk right along to Sa Trinxa, the best beach bar on the strip. Hippy vibes with gorgeous people, it's perfect for a relaxing afternoon in the sun.

Cala Conta
South-west of San Antonio. Its white sand and pine trees make it a great
recovery spot! Ideal for snorkelling.

Benirras
A truly great beach. It's a difficult one to get to as you have to follow the cliff-top roads for a couple of miles. Full of hippies who begin the party when the sun goes down.

Playa de la Salinas
A popular large, sandy beach towards the south of the island. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby to keep you going throughout the night and day.
