I've been into Hosptial Records for a few years now, I first noticed them because they stood out from the crowd with their different sound, so whenever there was a Hospitality night on in London , I would normally get down to it. Having moved to Brighton , it was wicked when they started doing nights down here! Hospitality Brighton is held at Audio, which is a great venue, quite intimate with a good crowd and good vibes. The sound system is crisp, and does the music justice. The venue is stylish, so you don't need to worry about your trainers getting too dirty! There's also a fair amount of seating for chilling out.
For this event Logistics, Craggz and Parallel Forces and Cyantific were headlining. Craggz and Parallel Forces were making their Brighton debut, I had not seen them play out before, I like some of their tracks so I was looking forward to hearing their set. MCs for the night were Hospital's own MC Wrec and SP:MC. There would also be support from Akademic, Callous, Sciphi, Stapleton MC and Monkey Harris.
We arrived at Audio about 11pm , there was already a fair queue outside. We got in, and Callous was warming it up nicely with some jazzy liquid beats, supported by Stapleton MC. By 11.30 the venue was already almost full, the crowd seemed up for it and were getting into the tunes. Callous finished his set with Atlantis (I need you) by LTJ Bukem which I love, always good when you hear an old tune dropped!
Next up was Craggz and Parrallel Forces, playing some more uplifting beats, hyping up the crowd, MC Wrec stepped up and by 12.30 the venue was banging. Like I said, I hadn't heard Craggz and Parrallel Forces before but they played a wicked set.
At 1.30 logistics was up, starting his set with Remember the Future by London Electricity which went down well, everyone in the place was having a wicked time and the vibes were nice. The last tune Logistics dropped was In love by Chase and Status and Jenna G, forthcoming on her album on Bingo which everyone loved.
Cyantific was the final DJ for the night. He played a heavy set, dropping Snapped It Remix by Krust and Trust Me by Roni Size which I hadn't heard in ages - that went down really well! SP:MC was on the mic, hyping up the crowd, everyone was loving it. Things were getting a bit hazy by now for me, and then before I knew it, the lights were on and it was time to go.we weren't really ready for bed so we carried the party on at home!
Overall another wicked Hospitality night in Brighton .. Everyone loved it by the looks on people's faces! The next one is in April, Fabio is headlining so I'll definitely be there. and if you live in Brighton , love your liquid drum and bass and you haven't been to Hospitality yet, I suggest you do so!
You can see photos from the night in the UKCD Photo Gallery.
