Passion at the Emporium, Coalville

15.04.2006

With this being my first outing to Passion I wasn't sure of exactly what to expect. I knew it would be trancey & messy & a good laugh but I wasn't aware of the fact that it would be one of the best nights out I've had in a very long time.

As soon as I walked into the emporium I knew that this was going to a brilliant night. The main room was pretty impressive size wise with many people already going for it on the various raised platforms dotted about it.

Despite not having heard of anyone who was playing (we don't have trance nights in Norwich!) the DJ's were all amazing especially Kuffdam & Plant (recently signed to DJSA records) who performed a live set of quality tranceloveliness.

Throughout the night DJ's such as Gareth Emery, John O'Callaghan, Marc Van Linden, Greg Downey, Marc West & Andy Bagguley treated us to delicious hands-in-the-air euphoria. I was in my element as in my opinion, there's nothing better than a mashed up tranceathon.

Room 2 hosted DJ's Vicky Devine, Neal Scarborough, Frase, Bryan Keaney, Danny Bass and Gav Collins. who provided a slightly harder, stompier soundtrack to the evening. It was a case of trying to make a rather difficult decision of which room do i go in? Do I want to stomp my feet or raise my hands in the air?

After 8 & 1/2 hours of dancing and talking codshit to loads of very lovely people, we retreated back to Loughborough where we were staying.

Its now Wednesday and I'm still buzzing from Saturday night. I won't shut up about how amazing it was and my ipod's now topped up with various DJ's tunes from that night.

I thought trance was dead but it was just a case of having not been out of Norwich. Trance is very much alive and I've got that "I wanna go out and dance all night" thing which I haven't had for years...All I can say is Oh-my-god-how bloody fantastic was that?!! Cant wait to do it again!

You can see photos from the night in the UKCD Photo Gallery.
