Wildchild - Reach for the sky - Part 2

07.07.06

Over the last few months I've been hammering the most recent Wildchild cd to death in my car, on my bike, at my desk, at friends houses, in the bath, in the garden and so on, so when I came across the ad in mixmag for this night I absolutely definitely had to go.

As a wildchild & heaven virgin I was particulary looking forward to popping my cherry at this night.

As i came into the club the crowd were being treated to a rater tasty trance set by Adam Sheridan.Hmmm...nice.

Shame about the not-so-tasty price for the beer though, at £4 a can, funds didn't go too far.The money in my purse went as fast as Lab 4 play their music. Then again, this was London and i am from farmerland where you can get eight for a fiver!

For a club though you probably couldn't ask for much more, with five (yes five!) rooms i was completely spoilt for choice. I wish i could of split myself into 5 different people so i could stomp around in all of them at once. The rooms were hosted by wildchild, sundissential, trance generation, nu religion and BBL House. I spent most of the night in the Wildchild arena which was the largest and loudest of them all.

As the night progressed, the people got messier and the arenas got hotter, sweatier and harder (and also a helluva lot smokier in the wildchild arena)

Missed lots of v. cool djs such as Marc van Linden, Alex Kidd and John O'Callaghan just for the reason that any sort of organisation on my part that night would have needed as much effort as a full scale military operation.

Somehow i managed to conserve just enough energy and brain power throughout the night for Scot Project & Yoji who played back to back form 4 'til 6am. Scot Project banged it out as usual with much stompin' and shape making by an army of clubbers. He played his own remix of Marco V's 'False Light' which was one of my personal highlights.

Yoji was next with an even harder set than Mr Project. As always he was bloody fantastic. Monochromo went down particulary well.

Just as i thought my legs were about to fall off, Lab 4 were next with their usual very hard, very fast, million calories a minute burning set. By this stage i had to bail out and do the sitting-down thing.

Lab 4's 'Candyman' was the last track played that night and everyone (even me) managed to get ourselves up and throwing our knackered bodies about in a twatted manner for one last time that evening/morning.

Upon reflection, now i can say I am well and truly an addicted wildchild slut who cant wait for the next dose of amazing bangin' brilliance. I hope to visit another wildchild event soon as just the thought of it, is making me moist!
